Module 1: Beginning Skills of Perception and Palpation

With Robyn Michele Jones, MA, MT, RCST

This 5 day course is an opportunity to develop and deepen your receptive practitioner skills. We will take the time to settle ourselves so that we can rest in presence with our clients. Using experiences with stillness and motion, exercises with centering and contact, discussion, and session exchange, we will work with the basic BCST skills of being and relationship which are useful in any modality.

The conscious intention and natural pacing we can bring to a session greatly shifts the potential for healing. Immersion in the fluid and energetic fields of this work is deeply nourishing for the practitioner and client alike.

This introductory class can be taken as a stand alone course to restore yourself and enhance your client interaction skills or you can embark on the exciting journey of becoming a Registered Craniosacral Therapy practitioner. “Beginning Skills of Perception and Palpation” is the first module in a two–year professional training in BCST now being offered at TLC for the first time.

Foundation Training in Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy

With Robyn Michele Jones, MA, MT, RCST
January 2012 – January 2014
700 hours

Are you ready for the next step in your personal and professional growth? Does a dynamic inner stillness call you? Would deeper presence and ability to “listen” be of benefit in your life? Are you interested in learning the practical skills of Craniosacral Therapy?

Based on the teachings of founder W. G. Sutherland and forwarded by Franklyn Sills, Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy is an energetic approach to Craniosacral Therapy. “Biodynamic” refers to the life energy/movement/health that is inherent in each one of us. Craniosacral Therapy works gently to relieve stress and forward healing in the central nervous system (the craniosacral system) and throughout the whole body.

In this training we will immerse ourselves in fluid dynamics, physical and energetic anatomy, embryology, trauma resolution techniques, personal skills of presence, and practice of specific craniosacral holds. The course is composed of classroom hours, home study (which includes reading, anatomy study, and short written assignments), a final project, and practice hours for a total of 700 hours. Upon completion of the required coursework, the Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy Association of North America will grant you the status of Registered Craniosacral Therapist (RCST).

Prerequisites: CMP or during the two years you can take Professional Studies 1, Biomechanics, and Anatomy 1 concurrently. This will then also give you a CMP certificate with a specialty in BCST which will allow you to practice in California. You can gain further certificates from TLC by taking other concurrent courses and using BCST as your elective bodywork choice.
